Most backyards don't become muddy from a foam party. The foam itself is made up mostly of air, and the amount of water used is often less than people expect.

The biggest factor is the condition of your yard before the party. If the ground is already saturated from heavy rain, some muddy spots can develop with lots of running and playing. On a typical lawn, however, mud is rarely an issue.

One thing to keep in mind: if you've freshly mowed the grass, wet children may pick up some grass clippings as they play. It's harmless, but you may want to mow a day or two beforehand or simply brush the clippings off afterward.
